uma análise dos últimos 20 anos da Regional de Saúde Campos de Cima da Serra/RS

Abstract

This article discusses infant mortality in the Campos de Cima da Serra Health Region. This is a problem that requires effective action by the competent bodies, since the accentuation of socio-economic inequalities or the precariousness of health services could increase infant mortality. The aim of this article is therefore to analyze the infant mortality rate in the Campos de Cima da Serra Health Region and its contributing factors. The methodology of this study follows a number of procedures, such as gathering quantitative data from DATASUS to obtain information on the region's infant mortality rate, from IBGE for population information, and from the Foundation of Economics and Statistics - FEE of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, which reveals the infant mortality rate of the ten cities in the region. In addition to searching for information in scientific articles, book chapters, dissertations and technical materials from state and federal public institutions. This research seeks to elucidate and alert, through data, the problem of infant mortality in this Health Region, being relevant for the authorities to take effective action, and for researchers studying this issue. The results show that the infant mortality rate in the state and in the Campos de Cima da Serra Health Region has fallen over the last 30 years. However, even with the reduction, this Health Region had the highest infant mortality rate in the state in 2022.
