ESTUDO DA FRAGILIDADE POTENCIAL E EMERGENTE DA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO CÓRREGO SÃO JOSÉ EM ITUIUTABA – MG

Abstract

Problems of hydrological origin, such as floods, inundation and overflow, are environmental impacts commonly observed in urban environments, these problems can be caused by several factors, the main one being the poor ordering of the urbanization process. This research had as main goal to analyze the environmental fragility of the São José Stream Basin in Ituiutaba-MG. For the analysis of the potential and emerging weaknesses of the Basin, the factors: elevation, slope, soil type and land use and occupation were classified according to different classes, according to the methodology proposed by Ross (1994) and adapted by Deina (2017) , and weights were assigned to each of these classes, considering the degree of protection that their characteristics offer to the soil. These weights ranged from 1 to 5, and the higher this number, the lower the protection offered. This indicated a predominance of areas of low fragility, with the exception of a small part in the low course that presented a high degree (10.3%) and very high degree (2.4%). Emerging fragility, in turn, presented areas that demand a little more concern, being the places where there is urban occupation, basically all presenting a high or very high degree, representing 39.2 and 14.5% of the total area, respectively.
