Abstract

There are many resources to bring knowledge and understanding of the past to students of elementary and high school, most of them are commonly used in classrooms. Probably one of the educational resources with the most potential is the literature and in particular the novel. In this article we propose to think how literature can contribute to learning from the past and what is the educational value of literary sources in teaching history, suggesting some ideas for its treatment in practice.
