Abstract

In what way the queer movement and theory dialogue with Foucault’s ideas about sexuality? In order to outline an investigation on this issue, the paper sustains, especially on the writings of Tamsin Spargo and Guacira Lopes Louro, put into mutual comparison with the theories of Michel Foucault and his concepts of “resistance”, “subject” and “counter-conduct”. Therefore, at rst this paper addresses the initial context of the queer movement and theories in the United States, in which Foucault’s ideas were taken up by David Halperin and critically reworked by Judith Butler to treat about the constructions of subjectivity as gender and sexualities outside of normativity.
