Most farmers are producing food in a way that unbalances natural ecosystems. It is necessary to seek alternatives and Agroecology can be constituted as an option to the hegemonic productive model. It is a theoretical-methodological approach that challenges the dominant agricultural production model and the hegemonic economic and cultural forms after capitalist agriculture. Agroecology makes possible the autonomy and security of the territories of peasant family farming families. According to INCRA, lines of financing were created in the PRONAF modality aimed at projects that use organic and agroecological systems in the Brazilian territory. The National Policy on Agroecology and Organic Production (PNAPO) was an achievement of several social actors interested in this agricultural practice and was a major impetus to the advancement of this food production system in Brazil. In the country, there are several collective activities that culminated in concrete actions relating the production of healthy foods through Agroecology, the use of Creole seeds and the work of social movements, for example, CSA Paulo Freire in Brazlândia (DF).
