The present study aimed to analyze textbooks for Primary School - Finals Series - produced from 2000 in order to find out how the Ancient History was addressed, taking into account that these works intended to be in accordance with the PNLD (Plano Nacional do Livro Didático). However, more than an actual examination of the formal and didactic aspects of the books analyzed, it was intended to draw a diagnosis of Ancient values of appropriation presented in Brazilian society once textbooks can be considered as cultural artifact which has a context of production and circulation, besides the interaction between authors, publishers, readership and State.Downloads
