Abstract

The ongoing technological transition in the sugarcane agrohydrobusiness, in the 10th Administrative Region of Presidente Prudente, as part of the capital's productive restructuring, materializes through intense mechanization of cutting and planting and the prevalence of the chemical-dependent model. The consequences of the process in workers' and collective health, in exposure to risks, in workers' illnesses, and environmental damage, also affect the dimension of subjectivity at work. With the COVID-19 pandemic, we defend the idea that the risks and injuries were increased, especially in economic sectors such as the sugarcane agrohydrobusiness, which never ceased their activities. To support our study, we resorted to qualitative methodologies, with the use of semi-structured scripts, when interviewing more than people, including workers in the sector, health professionals, trade unionists, religious people, members of the Public Ministry of Labor and lawyers; and quantitative methodologies, with data that were transformed into maps and cartographic products, charts, among others.   Keywords: Worker's health.
