The article discusses the evolution of the regime of Alfredo Stroessner in Paraguay, in the context of the Cold War. Stroessner has made use of the legitimacy and acceptance of violence as an element of control in order to legitimize a political power. These ideas existing before the beginning of the regime of the dictator and were strengthened during the period of the Cold War, allowing this dictatorship is maintained for many years. It is understood that the scheme of Stroessner is the desire to generate and control the social order, that it would take uncontrollable proportions by the context of the Cold War.Downloads
