World War II and Cold War: reflexions on Latin America

Abstract

The present article discusses international relations during the cold war in Latin America. With the development of the Second World War, the differences of these conflicts and their implications in power and global realities in the 20th century were envisioned. But the existing dialogue between the periods worked in the text was preserved. Ideologies were observed in disputes and evaluation models of international relations, in particular, realism, liberalism and socialism. In these observations, the cold war was presented as an American construction, with well-structured purposes, despite the simplicity of Manichean discourse found in the studied period; in the end, there was a reflection of the action suffered by Latin America in face of the new international scenario.
