This article discusses the place of oblivion in the historical studies, reflecting at first about some assumptions of Paul Ricoeur, Beatriz Sarlo and Paolo Rossi, in special. Then assesses how the nearly infinite digital storage capacity may interfere in the relationship between Memory and History. Finally it analyses the emergence of the right to oblivion in Brazil, to discuss how certain changes and legal decisions can affect the work of historians and the writing of history in present and future.Downloads
