Abstract

The short distance between the cities of Goiânia and Goiás demarcated a difference in the representation of regional temporality which was transferred to historiography. The construction of a new capital resulted in the desconstruction of the old capital, but opened up a space for negotiation between past and present through the recovery of historical heritage and regional memory.
