We intend to analyze the discourses produced by Cruzeiro newspaper about the work as a defining element of man's masculinity caxiense in the city of Caxias (MA) during the second half of the 1940s. We seek to understand these discourses aimed format, produce a male pattern, as the ideal desired development in Brazil during the government of Eurico Gaspar Dutra (1946-1950). We will discuss the issue of social democracy through the union between labor and capital desired by newspaper columnists Cruzeiro. We will analyze the speeches of the newspaper to try to make sense of being a man built out of ideas as "work dignifies the man." Seek to understand the close relationship between the discourses of newspaper columnists Cruzeiro with the interests of the State and the Catholic Church during the administration of President Dutra. The sources will be analyzed editions of the newspaper designed Cruzeiro in the second half of the 1940s. As a theoretical and methodological follow the paths taken by Foucault, Certeau and Bourdieu.Downloads
