Abstract

This study is part of a dissertation (2011) which approach aspects related to the work’s risk in the electricity sector. In this article, emphasis is given to an analysis of the notions of subjectivity of masculinity that pervade reality and work of electricians that are directly related to understanding the risk of accidents. Apart from the risk of physical accidents, it is understood that if the risks are in the realm of the unseen (socio-psychological). Among them is a subjective elements that constitute the ratio of workers with the notions of time, to be able to address the concept of risk. The speeches of workers are brought into dialogue with authors like Dejours, Giddens and Bourdieu. The text presents descriptive elements that enable elucidate the relationship between work and masculinity in the electricity sector to be an enemy inseparable from scratch.
