Urban settings and women’s trajectories: reflecting on gender issues

This paper aims to investigate violence against women in the city of Três Lagoas / MS, and study the actions in the field of social welfare, the women's police station, and women’s empowerment. It is intended to discuss the relationship between the increase of violence against women and the growing urbanization and migration processes in the city. Reflection on gender issues is related to the cultural settings and the complex relationships between men and women. In this article, we use the data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), printed newspapers, the Department of Social Welfare, and the women's police station.Downloads
