TEACHING OF GEOGRAP IN EARLY YEARS: a analysis based on Referencial Curricular of Campo Grande/MS

Abstract

The present work seeks to understand how the teaching of geography occours in the initial grades of elementary school in Campo Grande/MS. For this, its objective is to verify, through the analysis of the Curricular Reference of the municipality, the approach of the geography content. The procedures adopted were literature review and documental research with emphasis on curriculum of Campo Grande Municipal Education netwok – REME and National Curriculum Base - BNCC. It was verified the importance of Geography in the initial formation of fundamental education, especially in the perspective of reading the word and formation of citizenship. The analysis of the Curricular Reference, in turn, made it possible to understand that the teaching of geography in the city is based on the BNCC and that, in general, its presents important elements for the initial geographic formation. Despite this, some problems were evident, such as the maintenance of traditional geography, for example.
