The idea of ??nature tourism as an enhancement of the natural heritage has gained prominence in the last decade, through heritage policies such as enhancement of the natural assets that make up the culture of a people. The conceptual structure of this article articulates the notion of Middle Xingu Geodiversity, nature tourism and impacts on tourism and leisure activities after the construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Plant The research is linked to the results of the Historical Hydrogeographic Research Project of Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant, in partnership with Universidade Federal do Pará, Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho and Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi. The stages of the research consisted of bibliographic survey, collection of information in the field, collection of reports and photographic record and cartographic mapping. The municipality of Altamira was constituted as a pole of nature tourism that was leveraged due to the construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric plant, however, the plant's activities resulted in the region's natural imbalance and affected the activities of nature tourism.
