SPANISH TEACHING FROM A DECOLONIAL PERSPECTIVE

A LOOK AT AND FROM THE SOUTH

Abstract

This study aims to expose the political dimension of Spanish teaching and learning. For that, it starts from a theoretical-methodological dialogue between Indisciplinary Applied Linguistics and the ethical teaching of Spanish, which is committed to tackling hegemonic and colonialist pedagogical practices. Accordingly, we propose a decolonial-oriented language teaching aimed at overcoming the colonial basis in which we were (and are) (de)formed, reduced, erased, stereotyped and silenced.
