This article aims to present and discuss some results and my perceptions from my master’s research, supervised by Professor Maria de Fátima Fonseca Guilherme and defended in 2016, at the Federal University of Uberlândia. The study undertaken in the period from 2014 to 2016, aimed to analyze the utterances and voices evoked in the discursive processes of students in the Undergraduate Language Teacher Education Program at a public university in Minas Gerais, when they build representations about the choice of qualification in the course. The research had the participation of six (06) students of the Language Teacher Education Program in the years of 2014 to 2015, and their sayings were analyzed allowing the establishment of discursive axioms. In this article, I have detailed two fundamental axioms for research that resonate in the formation of language teachers, namely: i) the tension in choice of the Undergraduate Language Teacher Education Course, in which students let the inscription in a disreputable speech of the course that questions their professional choice, and the axiom iv) that concerns the role of the Basic Cycle in the formation of pre-service teachers, in which the enunciators, when speaking of the Basic Cycle, bring up the relationship with the language and the erasure of teacher training.
