Resumo

The fairy tale of the heretic princess coming from far away. Again on Guglielma Abstract: Divided into two parts (biography and hagiography) the article shows the multiple tendencies to create “the fairy tale of the heretic princess coming from far away”. The author takes into consideration different kinds of sources relating to a women called Guglielma, who died in Milan in 1281-1282 known by the proceedings of an inquisitorial trial hold in 1300. Although we know very little about her, in the most recent tendencies, information are just put together to create one Guglielma, a sort of patchwork of different Guglielmas, such as the famous case of “Guglielma of Bohemia, Milan and Brunate” or the pretended relation between Guglielma and Agnes of Prague, extremely fascinating, but not supported by historical documents.
