This writing, based on gender studies, aims to problematize the invisibility male and discuss the place as men under the Social Assistance Policy in Brazil, especially in the Basic Social Protection. This is on the assumption that few research studies have been questioning the men and the masculine gender perspective in the context of Social Policies. In contrast, there is historically expansion studies on social and women. The broadcast of automatic associations in the formulation, and especially in the field of policy implementation reflects equivalences mistakes, such as family and women, gender and women, men and invulnerability. In this sense, this paper recognizes the role and importance, historically constructed, women in managing families. But the other side of this process is the risk of harmless men that role and still make them increasingly invisible in the care of social services. Keywords: men; social assistance; gender; masculinities; social policy.Downloads
