What are the negative repercussions between inefficient sanitation, endemic diseases and river plains? Understanding the repercussions of sanitation efficiency in combating endemic diseases on the population's health helps in environmental planning propositions, pointing out which actions should be invested. Thus, the objective is to understand the correlations of Dengue and Chikungunya arboviruses with basic sanitation and specialized river plain areas in the neighborhoods of the City of Crato-Ceará, associating the spatialization of infrastructure and basic sanitation services and the city's geo environmental conditions. Descriptive and analytical research was carried out using bibliographic and documentary bases. As a result, neighborhoods located on the river plains, for example: Muriti, Vila Alta and Seminário, have a high number of cases, since they are in environments that are frequently flooded during rainy periods. In general, both Dengue and Chikungunya present a greater concentration on surfaces correlated to areas of depression where floods and river floods occur spatially. It is pointed out that the inefficiency of basic sanitation leads to an increase in the incidence of diseases and encourages the reproduction of vectors of other diseases, responsible for the transmission of arboviruses (dengue, chikungunya). Public Policies must be intensified and consolidated through the updating of an Environmental Sanitation Plan, directly linked to a Municipal Master Plan that will be constructed in a democratic and participatory way.
