Geoeducation emerges as a dynamic interdisciplinary field, seeking to integrate Geography and Environmental Education (EE) to promote the understanding of the interaction between humans and the landscape. It aims to create the perception of geographic space, leading people to see themselves as part of nature and understand their relationship with the environment. This approach can influence attitudes and actions in favor of geoconservation, focused on preserving biodiversity and natural and historical heritage. This qualitative article, through state-of-the-art research, explores academic production on geoeducation. The Catalog of Theses and Dissertations from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) was used to analyze whether the geoeducation approach prevails in formal or non-formal spaces. The data reveals that the theme is predominantly explored in non-formal spaces, leaving a gap in the integration of these two educational spaces. To overcome this challenge, more research needs to be developed to establish a confluence between these spaces.
