SELEÇÃO DO LIVRO DIDÁTICO PELO PROFESSOR: possibilidades e critérios

The article that we have presented is an integral part of the master's research entitled “The influence of textbooks on the pedagogical practices of teachers in the early years of elementary school”. Starting from the moment that the Didactic Book was permanently inserted in Brazilian education, researches was also initiated to try to identify and understand this material and its use in school practice. Thus, we propose to analyze the relationship that the teacher establishes with the LDP, mainly with regard to his selection. To this end, during Portuguese language classes and semi-structured interviews with teachers from the 4th and 5th grades of Elementary School we made some observations. We realized that the teacher has a relative freedom in the choice of material, since the MEC pre-selects the LDPs that arrive at schools. In other words, the universe of books available to the educational establishment is already reduced and teachers still have to choose three LDPs, so that one of them reaches the institution. Therefore, what happens is that the selection of books is made initially by the federal government. In this sense, the teacher ends up being restricted and limited in the process of choosing the material he will use in his practice.
