The purpose of this article is to approach the health-disease process from a geographical perspective. Then he discusses the relationship between land use and cancer cases in the city of São Gotardo-MG. To achieve the proposed objective, a bibliographic review was carried out combined with secondary data analysis. Considering the existence of associations between environmental conditions resulting from the way in which the territory is used and the vulnerability to certain types of diseases, t is pointed out that cases of cancer may be related to land use, especially considering the sub-basin of the upper Córrego Confusão.
