Abstract

The purpose of this text was to analyze the reports given by the transsexual subjects from television series “Liberdade de Gênero” (2016), from the GNT channel, affiliated with Rede Globo. Our objective was based at mapping of discursive regularities present in the reports of transsexual subjects, especially when they affirmed and positioned themselves in front of the gender identities assumed by these subjects and the implications caused by not recognizing themselves in the current discourse linked to biological sex. It was based on French Discourse Analysis (AD) perspective, operating the concepts of discourse, device and power relations in Michel Foucault (2015), together with the notes of Tomaz Tadeu da Silva (2014), in relation to the concepts of identity and difference, contemplated by Cultural Studies
