This article analyzes discourses about brazilian agricultural activity, using the theoretical and methodological foundation of Discourse Analysis. Following the precepts of Michel Pêcheux and Eni Orlandi, it presents a reflection on the effect of historical linearity produced between the Carta de Achamento do Brasil, written in 1500, and the institutional campaign of Rede Globo de Televisão, Agro: a indústria-riqueza do Brasil, published from 2016. It is observed the crossing of the economic discourse in both materialities that make up the corpus. This work is part of the Grupo de Pesquisa Educação Científico-Tecnológica e Cidadania, Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (Unemat).
