Abstract

This article is characterized by the commitment to establish a relationship between “self-care” and a production of subjectivity, based on some the last writings of Michel Foucault (2004b, 2010, 2011). Based on French Discourse Analysis perspective, we present an analysis of statements by singer Valéria Houston on music “controversial” and some interviews. It is the analysis of statements of a subject with injured social positions (woman, transgender, black), captured by know games that try to show what it is, capitalized by knowledge games and by a network of powers that try to normalize it. Moreover, this same subject participates in this know-how game, reconfiguring a discursive web, constructing a unique way of being from the exercise of parresía.
