Abstract

In this article, we analyze the petition for impeachment in disfavor of President Dilma Rousseff. We take as a basis for our analysis the assumptions of the semiolinguistic theory (CHARAUDEAU, 2014), in which the act of language is defined as staging. We present the communication contract established among the protagonist subjects, the context of construction of this petition and its legal basis. We also point out that at the time of the construction of the petition, it was in the interests of the enunciators to enunciate an action that was demanded by the Brazilian Social Democracy Party and by other opposition parties to the president's government.
