Abstract

The present article is a study of the recontextualization process, in print media, of the scientific knowledge "transgenic bean" in two news taken from the online media O Estadão and O Globo, using the theoretical and methodological framework of Discourse Analysis of Scientific Divulgation (DASD). Our goal is to understand the procedures of expansion, reduction and variation, specific of the recontextualization process of science in print media, as well as the divulgative strategies recurrent in the selected texts in order to understand how scientific information is recontextualized to the lay public.
