Abstract

From concepts from discourse analysis, discusses the place of literature initiation loving in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, as well as its effects on readers. From the central theme of these works, love will be taken as an important reference in the formation of subjectivities of the twentieth century. This fact is justified, since we assume that literature has had a function, among others, to serve as a kind of manual and manager of life in society and that, nowadays, she was replaced by the media.
