This paper presents reflections referring to the 'Big Mining Enterprises', dealing with the appropriation of geographical space and the creation of territories at risk. The objective is to understand the territorialization of these projects, radically transforming places, social relations and local ways of life. The spatial clipping for analysis is the Southeast of Goiás - Brazil, with emphasis on the municipalities of Catalão and Ouvidor, where the mineral exploration of Niobium and Phosphate prevails. The methodology involves bibliographic and documentary research, demonstrating the arena of conflicts and disputes that affect the territory and its living systems, more especially the human population, and non-living ones, such as water, soil and air resources. It is noteworthy that, in the locus of social, cultural and economic reproduction of mined municipalities, there is an urgent need for local empowerment, for those affected, social movements, institutions and researchers, in order to minimize the negative socio-environmental impacts present in the Sector. Large mining enterprises raise capital, promote development only for themselves, and overlap memory, place, identities, peace and the existence of traditional residents, practitioners of family agriculture in the researched area.
