CARTOGRAPHY OF LANDSCAPE OF THE RIBEIRAO PARAISO RIVER BASIN - JATAÍ (GO)

Abstract

In the context of the strengthening and expansion of the agricultural frontier in the Brazilian midwest, there is a marked polarization in the landscape between the socioeconomic activities developed locally, substantially modifying the structure and processes of the geosystems, and between the residual areas of savanna that still resist conserved in the form of fragments, registered as legal reserves, permanent preservation areas, private reserves and other unregistered residual areas. In this context, the present work, through the concept of geosystem and its analysis categories, seeks to carry out a mapping of landscape units aiming to produce a synthesis material of the area under study that can subsidize future territorial / environmental planning policies. It seeks to ratify the need to establish an orderly use of goods and natural resources aimed at maintaining geodiversity and biodiversity. In order to achieve the proposed objective, thematic maps were elaborated and then classes were crossed to obtain the units / synthesis, using spatial analysis tools available in the Geographic Information Systems. The results allowed the distinction of eighteen mapping units characterized according to the constituent elements of the landscape.
