Literature and geography are inevitably linked. All human actions are supported by physical scenario, therefore a geographic support. But Geography is also literature. Almost all travelers and thinkers have brilliantly recorded their impressions and descriptions of the landscape. From Homer and Eratosthenes, to the Portuguese Orlando Ribeiro, passing through Xuanzang, Battuta or Marco Polo, all described the landscape in its human and natural diversity, transformed or untouched.
Brazil, a single country with almost 84% of the area of Europe, is a reality so diverse that it is outside the scope of this short text; however, we are going to present our version of the finding of Brazil, through the impressionist eyes of Pero Vaz de Caminha. We extracted the geographic information that we consider most relevant from the letter and wrote our personal letter, based on the reading of the text, with the language of the 21st century, but trying to maintain certain expressions and the structure of some parts of the original letter. It is not a historical or scientific interpretation; it is a look at a new landscape, first seen by a traveler.
