A PAISAGEM COMO RECURSO PEDAGÓGICO NO DESENVOLVIMENTO DO PENSAMENTO CRÍTICO
THE LANDSCAPE AS A PEDAGOGICAL RESOURCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL THINKING

We live in a time of rapid change. Educational systems must find methodologies and didactics that captivate students born in a technological environment, where image is an important part of knowledge. We are living a transformation from the “Gutemberguian” paradigm to the digital one. Taking this reality into account, we carried out an experiment in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. We transmit geographical concepts through observation of the landscape, as a whole that integrates various areas of knowledge, and from the language of Comics, with the aim of developing critical and spatial thinking.
The concepts of landscape, critical thinking and comics are discussed, as didactic instruments for Basic Education. The work is theoretically based on Kieran Egan and the approach to the landscape is essentially based on Yi-Fu-Tuan; the Comic Strip is “Tintin”. Hergé, author of "Tintin", stands out for the rigor of the environments / landscapes portrayed (natural and human), allowing children to become acquainted with other realities and to critically transpose this look to the environment that is close to them.
