OS ESPAÇOS DA FORMAÇÃO DO OPERARIADO FERROVIÁRIO NA ESTRADA DE FERRO GOIÁS, EM ARAGUARI-MG (1930-1960)

THE HEGEMONIC SPACES FOR THE FORMATION OF THE RAIWAY WORKERS ON THE GOIÁS RAILWAY, IN ARAGUARI - MG (1930-1960)

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the spaces that were constituted as central elements in the formation of the railway workers on the Estrada de Ferro Goiás - EFG, in the city of Araguari-MG, between the 1930s and the 1960s. These spaces are constituted by the Escola Profissional Ferroviária , Vila Ferroviária da Goiás, wagon maintenance and manufacturing workshops, Hospital Ferroviário, the Goiás - Goiás Atlética Railroad Employees' Beneficent Association and the Consumer Cooperative, which comprised the set of objects forming a kind of railway complex at EFG. The spatial relations within this disciplinary and training complex, forged a part of the Brazilian working class: the railroad workers in the  Triângulo Mineiro  and the southeast of Goiás. The methodology used in the research was documentary research in newspapers and magazines, interviews obtained from the Araguari Public Archives, photographs and bibliographic analysis of memorialists and local historians. The contribution of the research will be the possibility to better understand the training processes of the Brazilian working class in this historic time.
