REVISITING METHODOLOGIES THAT DEMISIFY THE END OF RURAL IN CONTEMPORARY BRAZIL

Abstract

Over a long period and still manifest today, the relationship between the idea of ??development essentially linked to the urban has brought to the rural a subordinate role, linked to visions of delay and emptying, being strengthened by the normative and legal issues that had significant weight for consolidate the project from rural to lower than urban. Therefore, this proposal aims to investigate the methodologies that demystify the end of rural in Brazil. The course centered around the search for references that encompassed how the process of building a rural Brazilian has presented itself over the last decades, in the subsequent moment was developed the understanding of the process of production of the Brazilian rural space and its approaches, considering normative and analytical questions, arriving at the methodologies used by the authors that work the theme. The delimited methodologies respected a chronological and logical order of aggregation of new elements. Thus, OECD (1994), Veiga (2003), Blume (2004), Girardi (2008) and the “Rethinking the Concept of Rurality in the Project” were selected. Brazil: implications for public policy”. In the end, it was possible to clearly perceive the gain that the methodologies based on delimiting the rural through territoriality help in the reading of the new contents, still fostering the debate on territorial development.
