The objective of this work is to understand the ways of (re)production of agrarian territorialities in southeastern Goiás (GO) rural settlements, with emphasis on political, economic and cultural continuities and changes. Our spatial scope encompasses six settlements: Assentamento João de Deus (Silvânia, 1987), Assentamento São Sebastião (Silvânia, 1997), Assentamento Olga Benário (Ipameri, 2005), Assentamento Madre Cristina (Goiandira, 2009), Assentamento Buriti (Silvânia, 2009), and Assentamento Maria da Conceição (Orizona, 2010). Through qualitative research we performed theoretical, documental and field research (centered on semi-structured interviews and photographic records), relying on a non-probabilistic sampling. We conclude that the rural settlements of southeastern Goiás are agrarian territories in which are re(produced) traditional life styles of the peasantry in conjunction with political, economic and cultural changes that the settlers experience through territorialities.
