The article aims to present the river dynamics of the Cedro stream, located in Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, emphasizing the physical, chemical and biological processes. For the research, two sampling points were delimited in the Cedro stream, analyzing, for this purpose, variables of limnology (suspended matter, turbidity, water temperature, electrical conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen and the presence of benthic macroinvertebrates). The physico-chemical parameters were, for the most part, in adequate conditions. However, the electrical conductivity, in section 2, was higher than the established limit. The benthic macroinvertebrates collected in the first section are Diptera, Coleoptera (larva and adult beetle), as well as Ephemeoptera Baetidae; in the second section Diptera, Diptera Chiromonidae and Ephemeoptera Baetidae were collected. It was concluded that the macroinvertebrates found are of polluted habitats and even if the parameters (pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature and turbidity) are in compliance with the established limits, this stream is degraded and polluted, as it undergoes anthropic interventions along the its course, with little riparian vegetation and soil waterproofing.
